The GREENVERSITY project is officially underway, setting the stage for a transformative approach to integrating green competences into higher education. Funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, this ambitious initiative will run from October 2024 to August 2027 and aims to bridge critical gaps in sustainability knowledge and teaching practices across Europe.
Building a Greener
Future Together
GREENVERSITY seeks to embed the European Framework of Green Competences
(GreenComp) into the core of higher education. By fostering
sustainability-oriented thinking among educators and students, the project will
enhance skills, strengthen curricula, and empower institutions to become
champions of sustainable development.
Key Goals and Outputs
The project focuses on three main pillars:
- Developing a scalable framework to integrate and certify sustainability competences in higher education.
- Equipping educators through innovative Training-of-Trainers (ToT) methodologies and digital resources.
- Engaging students via courses and networking opportunities designed to upskill and reskill for a sustainable future.
By the project’s conclusion, GREENVERSITY will deliver impactful resources, including digital training centers, comprehensive courses, and a long-term sustainability roadmap.
The Kick-Off Meeting
The first transnational meeting, initially planned for November 4–5, 2024, in
Valencia, was postponed and moved online due to severe flooding in the region.
Despite these unforeseen challenges, the consortium gathered virtually on
December 11, 2024, to officially launch the project. Representatives from all
seven partners attended the meeting, solidifying their commitment to delivering
exceptional results.
